The National Social Security Fund issued the following:
"In the context of diligently following up on people's issues, especially those concerned with their health security, and in order to keep up with the living conditions and taking into account the stifling financial crisis that affected all sectors, especially the hospital sector, the Director-General of the National Social Security Fund, Mohammad Karaki, took all necessary measures that would support this sector and help it remain resilient as well as to move forward after an epidemic that swept the world as it drained its financial and human potentials.
Accordingly, to complete the administrative process, and in order to avoid burdening the insured patient with any additional matters, the Director-General issued an information note bearing number 665 on 4/13/2021, which included the following:
- An increase in the tariff of a dialysis session from 154,000 LBP to 250,000 LBP, after completing studies conducted by the Fund's management, which concluded that such an increase has become an urgent necessity and it was approved by the Board of Directors.
In this context, Karaki stresses that the concerned authorities, especially the hospitals that are under contract with the Fund, must charge their fees according to this tariff and adhere to all the Fund's tariffs, or else the necessary measures will be taken against violators.
The Fund's Director-General also calls on insured patients not to hesitate to file complaints in the event that additional sums of money are requested from them, while promising them that the insurance management is working to protect their health and social security."
