In an issued statement by Tourism Minister Walid Nassar’s press office on Sunday evening, it indicated several complaints have come to the Minister’s attention via some social media sites about the crowds of people gathering at the arrivals hall at Rafic Hariri International Airport to receive family and friends returning from abroad, without adhering to any of the preventive measures against the Coronavirus, particularly in terms of wearing masks.
“The Tourism Minister has been in contact with the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, and Airport Head, Engineer Fadi al-Hassan, to inquire about the situation, whereby it was agreed to make sure that citizens maintain safe distances and wear their masks while waiting for their family members’ arrivals; otherwise, violation records will be issued against anyone who fails to comply with the set procedures,” the statement added.
