Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Wednesday reaffirmed the strength of relations between Lebanon and Kuwait, thanking the State of Kuwait, Emir and government, for their permanent support for Lebanon, and their efforts to restore the Lebanese-Gulf relations to their clarity and vitality.

Premier Mikati welcomed today at the Grand Serail Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdel-Al Al-Qena'i.

On emerging, Ambassador AL-Qena’i said he discussed with Premier Mikati the bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern to the two brotherly countries.

Al-Qena’i also expressed the wishes of the Kuwaiti political leadership and the Minister of Foreign Affairs for having the best relations with Lebanon.

In response to a question about the Kuwaiti initiative, the Kuwaiti Ambassador said: "The return of diplomatic relations is an indication of the success of this initiative, and that the two sides, in brotherly Lebanon and in the Gulf, have reached a common agreement that the history and fate that unite them is more important than anything else.”

The Kuwaiti Ambassador also hoped that what happened will be a passing cloud, and the return of the ambassadors will lead to more rapprochement and cooperation for the benefit of the two brotherly countries.

On the other hand, Premier Mikati met with Minister of Information Ziad Makary, who said he is endeavouring to finalize Tele Liban (TL)’s related dossiers.

“Tele Liban’s dossiers, especially the issue of social assistance and all other issues raised by the Syndicate in our last meeting, will be on the agenda of the next cabinet session, following tomorrow’s meeting,” Minister Makary said.

On the other hand, Mikati met with Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar, with whom he discussed affairs related to his ministry.

Mikati then met respectively at the Grand Serail with MP Akram Chehayeb, and then a delegation of the dignitaries of the town of El-Qaa, over an array of relevant demands.
