South Korea's first female president has taken the oath of office.
In her inaugural address before 70,000 people at the National Assembly in Seoul, Park Geun-hye (61) urged North Korea to abandon its nuclear ambitions and promised a new era of economic prosperity.
World famous South Korean singer PSY sang "Gangnam Style" at the ceremony.
Park, who won election to the country's highest office in December 2012, is the daughter of the late South Korean leader, military strongman Park Chung Hee.
Park won around 52 percent of the vote, compared to 48 percent for her liberal rival, in one of the most hotly-contested races in years.
