Karadeniz Holding affirms inappropriate fuel quality

Karadeniz Holding issued a statement stating that its fully equipped power vessel Fatmagul Sultan had completed the tests phase under the supervision of a group of independent international experts and has begun generating a power capacity of 188 MW before the contractual deadline.

The company said in its statement that shortly after it started operating, laboratory results showed that the fuel quality was not appropriate.

After having identified the technical problems, Karadeniz cooperated with the Ministry of Energy and the EDL to find a suitable solution as soon as possible in a way that ensures the application of the terms stipulated by the sealed contract.

EDL is currently working to provide appropriate quality of fuel to the ship, allowing it to produce energy naturally.

The company declared the second power-generating ship is under construction and will sail off the Lebanese coast and dock off Jiyeh plant to start energy production, in consistence with the date specified in the contract signed between the company and the Lebanese Ministry of Energy and Water.
