Grand Sunni Mufti Mohammad Qabbani claimed told the Supreme Council of Jurisprudence he is 'the sole referent in Dar-el-Fatwa', stressing that his " inalienable powers and prerogatives emanate from my legitimacy as the one and only Mufti of the Republic".

Having discussed an array of problems facing the Sunni community, the Supreme Council of Jurisprudence endorsed the incumbent Mufti in his undisputed position including clerical upholding of the previous Mufti's constants.
