Hassan Khalil: health sector to face a major challenge as number of wounded Syrians increases
Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Ali Hassan Khalil, on Monday contacted the President of the Republic, the House Speaker, and the Prime Minister over the risky reverberations of the transfer of massive numbers of injured Syrians in Lebanon.

"Considering the huge number of injured which is likely to rise according to the estimations of the security services and the Red Cross, the issue is no more related to expenditures. There is a sharp insufficiency of clinic beds, which represents a major challenge for the health sector," the Minister explained.

"Everyone must assume their responsibilities. This issue exceeds Lebanon's capacities," he added, urging the state to act immediately especially that the Lebanese state has not yet received the promised aids the Arab League and concerned parties and committees had pledged to offer.
