Annahar daily pointed out that Speaker of the House Nabih Berri sent a message to the Maronite Patriarch Mar Beshara Boutros al-Raii before he heads to Rome, in which he detailed the extension circumstances and the Constitutional Council status. Berri told al-Raii, "I don't mind if you want 1960's law and there's no need to exhaust ourselves studying another draft laws." Berri considered that the three members of the Constitutional Council have saved Lebanon and defended its land.
