Lebanese Forces MP Joseph Maalouf on Thursday stressed that the country was in need of a genuine Cabinet that would manage the country's affairs, urging President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam to form a non-partisan Cabinet.
"The Cabinet should be formed before any national dialogue session," the MP said in a radio interview, confirming that dialogue would be required at this stage to discuss thorny issues, including Hezbollah's intervention in the Syrian turmoil.
Concerning Zahle deputies' initiative to steer the city clear from conflicts, he said "contacts are ongoing among all former and current deputies and ministers to disassociate the city from clashes," hoping that Zahle would be a starting point for an initiative that would expand to take affect in all Lebanon.
