Lebanese Kataeb Party leader Amin Gemayel met Thursday at his Bikfaya residence with the Ambassador of Italy, Giuseppe Morabito, with talks featuring high on the current local and regional political situation.
Speaking to reporters following the meeting, the envoy indicated that talks mainly dwelled on the repercussions of the Syrian crisis on Lebanon.
"I highlighted the necessity that all Lebanese political parties work to respect the Baabda Declaration," he said.
"Italy supports Lebanon through its contribution to the international peacekeeping forces operating in the South," he added, calling the Lebanese to finally agree on forming a government that guarantees stability in the country.
He did not fail to underline Italy's commitment to supporting the Lebanese institutions, on top of which the Lebanese Army and security forces.
