No day seem to pass in Lebanon without marking a security incident, making the Lebanese people worry because of the shaken stability in the country. Moreover, no region is spared from danger.
Today's incident, gunmen kidnapped two Turkish citizens at Cocodi Bridge in Beirut. The information obtained by MTV revealed that at 3:00 am when a bus carrying Turkish airplane staff from the airport heading to a hotel in Beirut, two cars intercepted their bus, dragged the pilot and his assistant out and kidnapped them to an unknown destination.
It is to note that, the bus driver is from Zeaiter family; he is currently under arrest for investigation.
For his part, the Turkish Ambassador Inan Ozyildiz confirmed the kidnapping of the two Turkish nationals stressing that he is following up the case, hoping that Lebanese authorities would work for their release.
Primary information indicate that the kidnapping is directly linked to Aazaz pilgrims case, given that the abducted are Turkish.
Furthermore, spokesperson of abducted Lebanese pilgrims Sheikh Abbas Zougheib was quick to deny any involvement by their relatives in the kidnapping.
"Abducted Lebanese pilgrims relatives have the right to do anything because their dossier is not progressing' the Lebanese state should support them." Zougheib declared.
