Kidnapped during the night, found in Downtown at dawn
Kidnapped during the night, they were dawn, in Downtown. They are the Germans Rolf J. (born in 1966) and Daniel R. (born in 1976) who were reportedly kidnapped on Friday night and a ransom was asked to free them.

The Germans arrived at Downtown after being freed by kidnappers at dawn and during Army raids soldier Charbel Tannouri was killed along with wanted man Mohammad Doureid Shoukeir for drugs trafficking, murdering and kidnapping.

The raid in northern Bekaa was made by Army units and Intelligence Directorate members at 3:00 a.m. in Dar al-Wassiaa to hunt the gang and find the two Lebanese with German nationalities lost since yesterday afternoon in Dayr al-Ahmar.
 
Further to Security pressure and intensive patrols all night long yesterday, kidnappers released the detained in Douris, Baalbek.
According to mtv sources, contact was lost with both Germans in Dayr al-Ahmar. They were coming from Tannourine to Northern Bekaa.
One of the kidnapped was forced to contact his friend, owner of a restaurant in Jounieh, to send the amount of five thousand Euros to Bekaa in order to free hostages.
Security forces followed phone calls and managed to locate their place hence the Germans were freed by kidnappers at 3:00 a.m. in Douris.
At 5:30 a.m., in the surroundings of Lazarite building in Downtown, Beirut police arrested the two Germans who said they were kidnapped in Bekaa. Probes are ongoing to unveil further details.
German embassy in Lebanon will be duly notified to send translators.
Later on, Army command- Orientation directorate issued the following communiqué:
“While Army patrol in Dar al-Wassiaa, Baalbek was hunting Mohammad Dourayd Choukeir wanted by many arrest warrants for killing ISF member and one citizen, opening fire on military forces and committing other crimes, he opened fire and killed one of the soldiers. Patrol’s members retaliated on source and killed Choukeir.
Military police undertook probes in incident”.
