Prime Minister designate Tamam Salam sources rejected to comment on the latest reports about the cabinet formation rapprochement, however his visitors noticed yesterday on Thursday that he will act as he intends, mainly after the reports which said that the cabinet will include 14 ministers who are according to al-Joumhouria daily:
- Sunnites: Tamam Salam, Mohamad Mashnouq, Adnan Qassar
- Shiites: Brigadier-General Abdul Mottaleb Hannaoui, Youssef Khalil (top employee in Banque du Liban), Raed Sharafeddine (1st deputy of Central Bank governor) or Ibrahim Shamseddine
- Maronites: Marwan Charbel (keeping his post as Interior Minister), Joseph Tarabay, Khalil Herawi, Ziad Baroud or Naji Abi Assi
- Druzes: Abbas al-Halabi
- Greek Orthodox: Samir Moqbel most likely to keep his post as Deputy Prime Minister
As for the Catholic and the Armenian, the names are not yet finalized.
The sources said that some suggested names rejected to partake in the cabinet, among them the Shiites and the Druze candidates, which led to resume the discussions in search for alternatives.
Same sources also pointed out that a meeting will be held between PM-designate Salam and President Suleiman, when he returns to Lebanon in order to tackle the outcome of the contacts.
