Okaz Saudi daily quoted well-informed diplomatic sources as saying that all indicators confirm that the Syrian regime asked its allies, mainly Hizbullah party, to go for the vacuum. It also requested not holding the polls on time while waiting for the presidential elections in Syria, which means Lebanon will not stage the presidential elections before September.

The sources pointed out that the Syrian regime is seeking to withhold the Lebanese elections until the reaction of the international community on the re-election of Bashar Assad is revealed, therefore Syria will take proper actions.
