Berri: After May 25, everything would be different

Speaker of the House Nabih Berri said Monday that there is still a chance to elect a "made-in-Lebanon" president, pointing that Lebanese people should seize this chance.

"When May 25 is reached, things will be different because the political parties should hold the responsibility of electing a new president as soon as possible," Berri was quoted by his visitors.

In remarks published by al-Joumhouria daily, Berri slammed the recurrent Israeli violations of the Lebanese sovereignty through crossing the Blue Line. The speaker called on the foreign affairs ministry to take action and file a complaint to the UN, hinting that he might put an end to the tripartite meeting [Lebanon, Israel and UNFIL] in al-Naqoura.
