National Liberal Party head Dory Chamoun considered the Baabda Declaration as a fundamental platform, pointing out that Hezbollah's insistence on the 'people-army-resistance' tripartite formula proves that paths diverge between local rivals.
"I do not fathom why they call him consensual, while he is so from Hezbollah's part arms as he concurs with the party's arms, policy, intervention in Syria and May 17. All these matters seem to acquire a consensual aspect to their eyes, while we deem as consensual the one who abides by the Constitution and the projection of the country," said the NLP leader in reference to FPM head Michel Aoun.
As for Jumblat's slip of the tongue in Brih, Chamoun said: "This is just a slip of tongue, I was there and saw everything," voicing hope that there would be ultimate reconciliation coupled with a closure to the Christian-Druze tensions that have cost a lot to so many people.
"MP Michel Aoun does not allow anyone to assume responsibility," he said when asked about the upcoming electoral session.
