Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi visited today Sunday, the Saint Elias church in Tripoli’s al-Mina area as a sign that is meant to shore up coexistence in the northern city and a condemnation of all odd practices.
“I have come to stand by our Christian brothers and deplore what was written on the Saint Elias church walls […],” the Justice Minister said.
Rifi noted that his decision to refer the individual who torched the Islamic State banner and those who vandalized the church walls to court as a national decision as opposed to populist, noting that his aim was to maintain coexistence.
