Former President Michel Sleiman expressed relief as to the international support to Lebanon, seeking to face terror threats, most notably the Russian pledge to assist Lebanon through arms, ammunition, tanks and aircrafts. Such aid is currently being seriously considered as it requires the parliament’s approval.
The former Commander in Chief wished the Army reserve be summoned. However, such a decision requires the cabinet’s approval.
As for resuming defensive strategy talks, Sleiman noted that discussions cannot be held without a Head of State.
