General Security chief Abbas Ibrahim said Monday that Qatar has started to exert serious efforts with al-Nusra Front and limited effort with Islamic State to release the abducted troops.
In an interview with As-Safir daily, Ibrahim pointed out that the last two days have witnessed an advance in the case of kidnapped soldiers, rejecting to disclose further details.
"Some of the abductors' conditions are hard, while others are applicable. They are set by militants from inside Syrian and not by militants in al-Qalamoun," he added.
"The conditions are not unified between both extremist groups, however they being resolved," Ibrahim concluded.
