Education Minister Elias Bou Saab's visit to Bcharri broke the ice on a long-frozen relationship between the Lebanese Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement, knowing that MP Georges Adwan's visits to Rabieh were halted due to the feud between the two parties.
Following his visit to the LF stronghold, Bou Saab posted a message on his Facebook page, denying rumors that his convoy was attacked by the party's supporters.
Few hours later, Bou Saab posted a photo depicting him and LF MP Setrida Geagea during the inauguration of the Bcharri Public High school, captioning it as follows: "We decided to name the high school after Gebran Khalil Gebran. I would like to thank MPs Setrida Geagea and Elie Keyrouz as well as the residents of Bcharri for their hospitality."
Bou Saab assured that his speech was well received, assuring that MP Michel Aoun's instructions stipulate that all areas be included in the educational development plan.
The minister's remarks incited a burst of applause, leading Geagea to joke around with Bou Saab, telling him that his words resulted in the biggest round of applause for Aoun in Bcharri.
To conclude the frivolities, Bou Saab shared a video post from the Lebanese Forces Website on his page, which in itself is an event that could possibly never occur again.
