Ministerial crisis cell tasked with resolving the abducted troops’ case is extensively discussing the three options handed by Nusra Front and Islamic State as conditions to release the soldiers.
The cell is waiting for the captors to identify the names of Islamists inmates to release them from Roumieh prison as well as female prisoners name list in Syria, in order to find out if the names are negotiable or not.
The governmental sub-committee excludes the negotiations on terrorists charged of killing innocents from the military institutions.
Al-Joumhouria daily has learned Saturday that General Security Director Major General Abbas Ibrahim held contacts with Syrian side to reveal its stance regarding the demands of the captors. The Syrians have responded positively and shown the sense of cooperation.
The same newspaper obtained information saying that Ibrahim will visit Syria very soon to receive the name list of female prisoners.
Sources following up on the case revealed that Ibrahim informed Prime Minister Tamam Salam that the captors vowed to keep the soldiers safe as long as the negotiations are ongoing.
"The case requires time," the sources concluded.
