Kataeb party stresses need for self-dissociation in the wake of Israeli raid

The Lebanese Kataeb party stressed the need for Lebanon to adopt the self-dissociation policy following the Israeli raid on al-Qunaitra, voicing concerns over the negative repercussions that such an act could entail.

In a statement issued following its weekly meeting, the party's politburo called for warding off the Israeli raid spillover, calling for keeping Lebanon out of the "dangerous" conflict arena.

The party slammed recent anti-Bahrain statements made by Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah, praising the continuous support that Arab countries have always provided to Lebanon.

The politburo said that Nasrallah's comments harm Lebanon, demanding a national stance that would preserve the country's fraternal ties with Arab countries.

The Kataeb party also condemned the "abominable" attack on the Lebanese lawyers taking part in an Arab Lawyers Union conference in Cairo.
