Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea congratulated Egypt and President Abdul Fatah al-Sisi on the opening of the second Suez Canal.

“The new Suez Canal is a a major turning point for Egypt after 4 years of political and economic woes. The country is now headed towards a more stable and prosperous future,” he said.

Geagea hailed the Egyptians’ swift and efficient implementation of the project, underlying massive capacities to complete a project that reflects a great national pride.

“The new waterway will consolidate Egypt’s role in global trade and create new employment opportunities to the locals," he added, noting that opening of Egypt’s trade hub will bring about solid contribution to the global economic growth.
