Lebanese Army Arrests Terror Suspect Abdul Rahman al-Kilani

The Intelligence Directorate of the Lebanese army released a statement Monday in which it announced that "it has arrested Abdul Rahman Tarek al-Kilani upon his return to Lebanon on suspicion of recruiting suicide bombers abroad."

Al-Kilani confessed to being a member of Osama Mansour's terror group, and admitted his involvement in the attacks that targeted the military in Tripoli.

The suspect said that he was tasked by fugitives Bilal Badr and Shadi al-Mawlawi to recruit and train teenagers for the purpose of carrying out suicide attacks against the Lebanese army and the Internal Security Forces.

According to his confession, he had succeeded in training three Lebanese nationals, whose arrest depositions corroborate the concocted terror plan.

The recruits claim that they have completed the target-tracking operation with the help of other insurgents.

Suspects have been transferred to the custody of the military judiciary; authorities have initiated a search for other accomplices who remain at large.
