Mexican-born Salma Hayek has appeared to claim that Donald Trump leaked a story about her because she refused to go on a date with him.
The Republican presidential nominee allegedly tried to get Salma to go out with him when she had been trying to make a name for herself in Hollywood, and allegedly got a friend to get her telephone number.
Speaking in a radio interview with El Show del Mandril on Radio Centro 93.9 on Friday, the Oscar-nominated actress spoke in Spanish and according to Buzzfeed said about Trump: "When I met that man, I had a boyfriend and he tried to get his friend to get my home telephone number.
"He got my number and he would call me to invite me out."
Salma reportedly felt that Trump felt smarted when she snubbed his invitations and allegedly tipped off a newspaper with a misleading story about her.
"He wouldn't say he called, but someone told the National Enquirer," the Frida actress said.
"Someone told the National Enquirer - I'm not going to say who because you know that whatever he wants to come
out, comes out in the National Enquirer. It said that he wouldn't go out with me, because I was too short."
After the story was published, Salma said that Trump continued to call and even left her a voicemail saying that he was shocked to read such a story.
"He thought that I would try to go out with him so people wouldn't think that's why he wouldn't go out with me," Salma said.
The 50-year-old actress, who is married to businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, previously joked that Trump could borrow her U.S. History for Dummies during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden in August.
