Swimming beaches along the coastline of Tyre are unpolluted, Head of Tyre Municipality, Hassan Dbouq, said on Monday, rejecting "all rumors that target tourism in this city."
Speaking at a press conference, Dbouq indicated that the results of the lab tests conducted by Mount Amel Hospital and the Industrial Research Institute, proved that the region stretching from the west to the south was pollution-free.
Moreover, Dbouq denied claims accusing Tyre municipality of turning the city's public garden int a landfill site.
"If the municipality was burying waste in the garden, there would have been a mountain of garbage by now, noting that the garden is not spacious enough," he said.
Accordingly, Dbouq explained that building ecofriendly trash incarcerators as a solution to be adopted in the forthcoming stage, calling the state to provide the required funds.
