A handover ceremony took place Monday at the Ministry of Industry between outgoing minister Hussein Hajj Hassan and Minister Wael Abu Faour.

In a joint press conference, Abu Faour indicated that the Democratic Gathering ministers acted positively during the new government's first session, adding that they did not bring up several affairs "out of keenness on the government's persistence and harmony."

"As a Democratic Gathering, we will behave with utmost positivity in the government as to separating the livelihood affairs from political conflicts," he said.

"However, this must apply to other political forces," he added, asking Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil to cease his "heresy."

Furthermore, Abu Faour maintained that the Progressive Socialist Party will continue to support national industries, adding that he will aim to promote their level.

For his part, Hajj Hassan congratulated the President, the House Speaker and the Prime Minister on the formation of the new government.

"We will be in our supervisory parliamentary position," he said.
