A handover ceremony took place Monday at the Ministry of National Education and Higher Education between outgoing minister Marwan Hamadeh and Minister Akram Chehayeb. 

The ceremony took place in presence of officials of the Ministry's affiliated directorates, departments and units, among others. 

Outgoing Minister Hamadeh wished Minister Chehayeb all success in his mission at the helm of the Ministry, hoping that further advancement would be realized.

Chehayeb, in turn, hailed the role undertaken by Hamadeh especially in advancing the level of education, in general, and the level of public and private school as well as the Lebanese University, in particular. He also hailed his role in preserving the rights of teachers and students.

Chehayeb vowed to work for the sake of preserving the role and level of the Lebanese University, as well as to support the development of the public schools.

Chehayeb also pledged to work for the sake of the advancement of the educational sector and the whole nation, urging all those working in the educational sphere to cast aside confessional and sectarian affiliation or belonging while carrying out their duties.
