Baabda Palace witnessed a series of meetings touching on an array of political, diplomatic and developmental issues on Friday.
In this framework, President Michel Aoun met with Minister of State for Social and Economic Empowerment of Youth and Women, Violette Khairallah Safadi, and former Minister Mohammed Safadi.
Talks reportedly touched on the general situation in the country, in addition to the work of the government in the upcoming stage.
At the diplomatic level, President Aoun received the outgoing Jordanian Ambassador to Lebanon, Nabil Al-Masarweh, who came on a farewell visit upon the end of his diplomatic mission in Lebanon.
Aoun conferred upon Ambassador Al-Masarweh a high ranking cedar citation as a token of appreciation of his role in bolstering Lebanese-Jordanian relations in the various fields.
The President also welcomed at the Baabda palace the Secretary General of the Lebanese-Syrian Supreme Council Dr. Nasri Khoury, who briefed him on the Council's work.
At the developmental level, Aoun met with "Strong Lebanon" bloc MP Mario Aoun, on top of a delegation from Damour and the Chouf district.
The delegation took up with the President the stringent needs of the district.
Addressing the delegation, Aoun underlined his keenness to accord attention to the stringent needs of all the Lebanese regions and towns, notably the region of Chouf through the implementation of a series of social and developmental projects.
Aoun also underscored the paramount importance of education, deeming it as "a priority for every society." He stressed his concern for the advancement of public schools, notably in the region of Damour, in particular, and the Chouf, in general.
