The press office of Dar-al-Fatwa renewed in a statement on Monday, the institution's complete rejection of civil marriage as it contradicts the law of Islamic Sharia. 

"The position of Grand Mufti [Abdullatif] Derian, Dar-al-Fatwa, the Sharia Council and the Council of Muftis is well known," the statement read, maintaining "absolute rejection" of the civil marriage "as it contradicts the Sharia law."
