Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, on Friday received at Dar Al-Fatwa the UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi, with talks reportedly touching on the general situation.
Ambassador Shamsi stressed that the UAE will remain by Lebanon's side to carry out its national and Arab role, and to remain an independent, sovereign, free and Arab nation, cooperating with its Arab brethrens.
Shamsi also indicated that human fraternity document is a joint effort between the United Arab Emirates, the Vatican and the Arab Republic of Egypt via the Al-Azhar Al Sheirf.
Shamsi also deemed the UAE-sponsored human fraternity document as an illuminating page in the history of Islamic-Christian relations.
The ambassador also stressed the UAE's keenness to cooperate with Dar al-Fatwa in the religious, scientific and cultural fields, and to hold lectures, seminars and exchange of expertise of mutual interest.
