Mufti of Tripoli and the North, Sheikh Malek Chaar, met on Saturday at his residence in Tripoli with Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Wang Kejian, with talks centering on bilateral ties between the two countries, and ways of bolstering cooperation to promote and develop the "Silk Road" linking China to Europe through Tripoli and across the Middle East.
After the meeting, Kejian said that China "looks forward to cooperating with the Lebanese government and with various parties in Lebanon in various projects, especially in the field of infrastructure that Lebanon needs and which is economically and socially feasible in Lebanon.
The Chinese Diplomat also explained to the Mufti the situation of the Muslim citizens residing in China.
