"The new US sanctions against Hezbollah, which targeted Mohammed Raad, Amin Sharri and Wafic Safa, fall within the framework of arbitrary American decisions that do not stop here in Lebanon targeting its citizens, officials, and politicians, but expand to deal with the entire world as if it is its leader and sole decision maker," Hezbollah MP, Kassem Hashem, said in an interview to the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Wednesday.

"Washington's sanctions are nothing new; they target Lebanon as those whom the sanctions target are elected representatives of the Lebanese people and popular will," Hashem added. 

"There will be a Lebanese position against these sanctions through official state institutions to reject the dictates that only serve the enemies of Lebanon," the lawmaker concluded.
