Prime Minister Saad Hariri received Friday at the Center House the President of the Interpol Foundation for a Safer World, former Deputy Prime Minister Elias Murr.
"We discussed two very important questions: the first concerns security in the country. The security and military services under the leadership of Prime Minister Hariri are doing their work a needed. The second question concerns economic, financial and budgetary matters. Prime Minister Hariri informed me of the measures that will soon be approved by Parliament. I believe that if they are approved, it will be a good surprise for the country. What I heard from the Prime Minister is reassuring. It is true that our situation is difficult and delicate, but we are not in a dangerous phase thanks to the measures taken by the Prime Minister ", Murr stated.
Hariri also met with the Tashnag Party Secretary General, MP Hagop Pakradounian, and Tourism Minister Avedis Guidanian.
After the meeting, Pakradounian said, "Prime Minister Hariri's atmosphere is always positive and he is in constant motion. He is working hard with President Aoun to solve the problems, especially the repercussions of the events in the mountain. We leave with the impression that there are positive results, but that political parties have to make more efforts.
As a bloc of Armenian deputies, before the events of the mountain, we called on the political parties to stop taking hard stances because the country does not support it, especially that we are in summer and we expect a lot from this season".
Hariri also received the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, Ed White. They discussed the situation and the latest developments.
