Arslan visits Hariri: For separating political and judicial paths
National News Agency
Prime Minister Saad Hariri received Friday afternoon at the Grand Serail the Democratic Party leader MP Talal Arslan and the Minister of State for Refugee Affairs Saleh Gharib.

After the meeting, Arslan said, "It was an opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Hariri in the painful circumstances we and the country experienced, the consequences of which have not yet ended. What I can say is that Prime Minister Hariri has shown the same keenness on the mountain and its inhabitants and to avoid discord in the mountains.

Of course, I am not at all surprised by this position and I told the Prime Minister that there should be a separation between the political path that we are not opposed to, and the judicial process. We do not want any discord. But politics has its role, and security and justice have theirs.

What concerns me is not the political issue, but the attempt to mitigate the magnitude of the situation.

What happened is unacceptable. It is a big crime and not a simple affair. We are open, but not on the fact that the blood of people and martyrs is vulnerable to politics.

Our request to refer the case to the judicial council is not a challenge, nor is our reading a political reading because we are accusing a political party.

There is blood on the ground that needs to be picked up. No one asks Talal Arslan for this blood to be picked up with speeches or positions that faint and despise the crime that took place.

General Abbas Ibrahim is tasked by the President of the Republic and is making his tour. I met him yesterday and we made it clear that I will not answer anything until he visits everyone."

In response to a question, he said, "to say that others have handed over those who are wanted is false. They handed over a small number of wanted people, yes, but did not hand over all wanted people. I hope this is clear to the media”.

When asked if he thought it was difficult to convene the government, he said it is not his job and that Minister Gharib will not miss any meeting.

Is he ready to hand in the witnesses? He replied, "Today, I wrote on Twitter that I am ready to hand in anyone, starting with our brother, our companion and friend, Saleh al-Gharib, and so on, when things follow the normal path.”

When asked if Prime Minister Hariri refused to refer the case to the judicial council, he replied, "I listened to him and he listened to me. He is keen on the role played by General Abbas Ibrahim. This is not a problem and, if we make it easy, we will get results that satisfy us and satisfy everyone. The question must be referred to the judicial council. It will appoint a magistrate to investigate everyone, and I ask that he begins with Minister Saleh al-Gharib. Is it not respecting the law and respecting the wantedpeople and the witnesses?"
