Defense Minister Elias Bou Saab said in a press conference from the Parliament: "It is regrettable to see retired soldiers in the street to defend their rights. Some are saying they will submit an appeal, and we encourage them to exercise their right."
"There are many items in the budget concerning the security services, and we support the retired military's inclination towards submitting a challenge to the Constitutional Council if they saw fit," he said.
"There has been no deals. Our positions are clear," Bou Saab stressed, pointing out that "the deduction on the basic salary will not affect the retired military personnel by more than 3000 thousand LBP, and this applies to all State employees."
