Paris Saint Germain star Lionel Messi recently shared an interesting image of himself with the World Cup trophy as he continues to enjoy winning his most coveted trophy yet. The 35-year-old is currently back in his home country Argentina, where he arrived with the rest of his teammates to a thunderous reception from hundreds of thousands of fans.

Despite the fact that it was 4am in Buenos Aries, fans turned up in numbers to greet the heroic Argentina players as they arrived from Qatar.

It was Messi who appeared first from the aircraft and after a brief appearance at the Ezeiza international airport, the entire 26-man squad went on the customary open-bus parade to flaunt the famous Jules Rimet trophy to the grateful fans.

In addition, Tuesday was declared a national holiday in Argentina to allow for festivities to go on all night.

Surely it must have been a long night for Messi and his teammates, but they will certainly not mind, especially after the grueling World Cup final they had against France. Messi scored twice in the game, but Kylian Mbappe’s brilliant hat trick forced the game to penalties after extra time, which Argentina won 4-2, per FIFA.

It was a post that was unlike Messi, who typically does not share casual snaps on his Instagram, which has now blown up to 400 million followers overnight.

According to Euro Sport, Messi's Argentina will only get a replica of the World Cup which is made of bronze and coated with gold. It is understood that the original trophy is kept at the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich, Switzerland.
