A group of Iranian prisoners who spent years in prison in the United Arab Emirates have just been freed.

The Iranians, including a number of women, are to be sent home in the next few hours, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

Their release was made possible through diplomatic and security delegation talks. “Legal and diplomatic efforts to secure the rights of these citizens are being vigorously pursued,” it said.
