Fear and panic gripped the Lebanese in recent hours, for fear of a major earthquake. In this context, Samir Zaatiti, a researcher in geology, reassured live on MTV that "the worst already passed, and it was the day of the Turkish earthquake on Monday, which reached us to a lesser extent."
Zaatiti added: "Aftershocks' strength decrease with time, and it is not possible to predict when they will occur," stressing that "there is really no need for panic, as the internal earthquake line that passes through Lebanon is not dangerous."
