MTV statement: Watching the station is free, but we forbid selling its broadcast rights without a prior agreement

MTV confirms that its broadcast rights are available for free, as are the rest of the Lebanese stations, but it is forbidden to sell broadcast rights through cable distributors unless these stations have an agreement with MTV in advance, and are paying their due fees.

Accordingly, the claim of some distributors, especially in the Baabda region, that MTV imposed a fee in exchange for watching it is incorrect. MTV follows the law that some distributors have been violating for many years, as they charge subscribers monthly subscriptions and make profits in exchange for re-broadcasting TV stations without paying the required fees.
