A mechanical malfunction in the Jounieh cable car resulted in two cabins crashing, causing the suspension of both upward and downward movements.
Civil defense teams are working to evacuate passengers near the ground using cranes, while stranded citizens inside the cabins await rescue at various intervention points.
Sources indicates that 44 individuals who were traveling from Jounieh to Harissa are currently trapped in the cable car cabins, and 4 of them have been rescued so far.
