Army Commander, General Rodolphe Haykal, inspected the Beirut Area Command’s central operations room, the sub-operations room, and the Fourth Intervention Regiment Command, at the Henry Chehab Barracks in Beirut.
Army commander Haykal was briefed on the security measures implemented by the military units deployed to maintain the safety of the electoral process.
The army chief stressed that "the success of this operation reflects the effectiveness of the work of the relevant institutions and is based on the army's performance in preserving security."
Maj. Gen. Haykal also stressed that tampering with security is prohibited, noting that "a large number of shooters and law breakers were arrested in the previous phases of the elections, and this will continue until all those involved are arrested."
Addressing the military personnel, he said, "You are performing your duty to the fullest, and this is essential to ensuring that citizens exercise their right to vote." He praised the personnel's professionalism and discipline despite the complexity of their tasks.
