President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, congratulated the Internal Security Forces leadership, officers, and soldiers on the 164th founding anniversary falling on June 9.
He said: "The Internal Security Forces are not a mere security institution, but rather a symbol of dedication and loyalty in serving Lebanon and its people. In every street and neighborhood, in every village and town, members of these forces stand vigilantly guarding the security and safety of citizens."
"Over the years, the Internal Security Forces have faced numerous challenges, from fighting crime to maintaining public order, and from combating drugs to protecting vital facilities, public administrations and institutions, diplomatic missions, and more...Each time, these forces have proven that they are up to the responsibility entrusted to them," Aoun added.
"Today, as we face difficult economic and social challenges, the Internal Security Forces, along with sister security institutions, remain the safety valve that preserves Lebanon's stability and protects its citizens. The sacrifices of the men and women of this institution and their dedication to their duty deserve our utmost appreciation and respect," President Aoun maintained.
The President affirmed commitment to providing all necessary support to the Internal Security Forces to develop their capabilities and improve the conditions of their personnel, as Lebanon's security and stability are linked to the strength and effectiveness of its security institutions. "On this occasion, we salute all members of the Internal Security Forces, regardless of their ranks, and thank them for their dedication and loyalty. We also remember with reverence the martyrs of this institution who sacrificed their lives for the nation's security," Aoun emphasized.
He concluded: "I am fully confident that Lebanon will remain safe and stable thanks to the efforts of its loyal sons in the Internal Security Forces and all other security forces."
