Army Commander Marks 80th Anniversary with Security Briefing and Readiness Call
Lebanese Army Commander, General Rodolphe Haykal, held an exceptional meeting in Yarze on the occasion of the Lebanese Army’s 80th anniversary. Attended by senior officers, unit commanders, and several ranking officials, the meeting addressed local and regional developments, as well as military affairs.

General Haykal congratulated officers on the Army Day, stressing the institution’s effective role despite Lebanon’s difficult circumstances. He highlighted the Army’s readiness amid rising Israeli violations, which have led to casualties and destruction, affirming: “We are proud of our martyrs and wounded who have sacrificed for the nation.”

Moreover, Haykal emphasized ongoing efforts to preserve stability, protect borders, curb smuggling, and address external threats, noting continuous coordination with Syrian authorities on border security.

The Army Commander also pointed to the Army’s deployment south of the Litani River in close cooperation with UNIFIL, despite Israel’s continued occupation of positions seized during its recent assault. He commended southern residents for their cooperation and reiterated ongoing communication with the Tripartite Mechanism.

Haykal concluded by affirming the Army’s vigilance against terrorist threats and expressing gratitude to military personnel for their dedication and sacrifice.
