President of the Republic Joseph Aoun chaired a high-level judicial meeting at Baabda Palace, attended by Minister of Justice Adel Nassar, Supreme Judicial Council President Judge Souheil Abboud, Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation Judge Jamal Al-Hajjar, and the newly appointed public prosecutors following recent judicial reshuffles.
These include: Financial Prosecutor Judge Maher Chaaito, Government Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Claude Ghanem, Beirut Prosecutor Judge Raja Hamoush, Mount Lebanon Prosecutor Judge Sami Sader, North Lebanon Prosecutor Judge Hani Al-Hajjar, Bekaa Prosecutor Judge Marcel Haddad, South Lebanon Prosecutor Judge Zahir Hammadeh, and Nabatieh Prosecutor Judge Najat Abi Chacra.
President Aoun opened the meeting by welcoming the participants and congratulating the newly appointed prosecutors, emphasizing the weight of the responsibilities entrusted to them. “Your appointments come at a historically sensitive juncture that requires the utmost national responsibility. You now carry the trust of upholding justice and enforcing the law without bias or exception,” he stated.
The President stressed three key principles: that justice is the foundation of governance, the law must apply to all equally, and the judiciary must preserve its independence and dignity. “Be close to the people and their concerns, and work to restore their confidence in justice through your transparent and principled performance,” Aoun added.
Aoun finally concluded by affirming his full support for every effort in the pursuit of justice and national integrity.
President Aoun also received Agriculture Minister Nizar Hani and MP Akram Chehayeb, with whom he discussed agricultural, developmental, and social conditions in the Aley and Chouf districts.
Later, Aoun met with Minister of Public Works Fayez Rasamny and businessman Wissam Ali Al-Nassr to review the operations of the ministry’s directorates, including activity at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport and the ports of Beirut, Tripoli, and Sidon.
