The General Directorate of General Security marked its 80th anniversary with a celebratory event that included the inauguration of its new Beirut Security Department building, under the patronage and presence of Minister of Interior Ahmad Hajjar alongside Director General of General Security Major General Hassan Choucair.

In his speech, Major General Choucair emphasized the institution’s commitment to national stability, stating: “We approached the file of displaced persons from a humanitarian and rights-based perspective. We work day and night to safeguard Lebanon’s stability, and General Security will only stand with the state and its institutions.”

Minister Hajjar praised the directorate’s work: “I stand by your side and support your continuous development. General Security is Lebanon’s front line, and it carries a major responsibility. Service and sacrifice must be reflected in every detail—there can be no leniency with violations, regardless of their scale.”
