“This afternoon, I received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron, who reiterated his commitment to convening an international conference for Lebanon’s reconstruction and economic recovery, as we had agreed during my recent visit to the Élysée, as well as another conference in support of the Lebanese Armed Forces. He also expressed his support for the government’s decisions regarding the exclusivity of arms.
In turn, I thanked President Macron for his ongoing support to Lebanon on all fronts, particularly for the significant efforts of French diplomacy in securing the renewal of UNIFIL’s mandate. I also informed him about the successful completion of the second phase of the plan to hand over Palestinian weapons to the Lebanese Army.”
