President Aoun thanked the French President for his efforts and that of his country's delegation to the United Nations, in full coordination with the United States and the member states of the Security Council, which resulted in an agreement to extend the mandate of the U.N. peacekeeping force until the end of 2027.

The discussion also addressed the plan the Lebanese army will develop to implement the Cabinet's decision to restrict the possession of weapons to the Lebanese security forces solely.
