Finance Minister leads a series of meetings
Finance Minister Yassine Jaber received United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, in his office at the ministry.

The discussion reportedly touched on the latest developments in the South and the role played by the UNIFL, in addition to the work of the "Mechanism" military committee.

Minister Jaber reiterated Lebanon's emphasis on the need to compel Israel to respect the ceasefire agreement, halt its aggression, and withdraw from the posts it still occupies. Jaber also thanked the UN coordinator for the role played by the UNIFIL to carry out its tasks.

Separately, Minister Jaber met with a delegation from the European Union that included the Head of Unit MENA / EU Ana Pires, accompanied by the Director of the Cooperation Department, Alessandra Viewzzer Cyril Dewaley, and her deputy.

The discussion touched on the projects implemented by the EU in some sectors of social nature.

Minister Jaber, in turn, briefed the delegation on the reform steps that were implemented so far.

Earlier, Minister Jaber welcomed in his office the Director General of State Security, Major General Edgard Lawandos, with a delegation from the Directorate.  The discussion touched on the steps of cooperation between the State Security and the Ministry of Finance in the issues of customs and real estate affairs.
