Sheikh Ali Daamoush, head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, said the Lebanese government miscalculated by assuming the resistance had weakened and could be subdued through pressure, attacks, and threats. He noted that the government was surprised by the firm stance of the resistance and its supporters, which effectively halted any attempts to destabilize the country.

Daamoush warned the government against involving the Lebanese army in confrontations with the resistance or its own people, stressing that the army’s role is to protect against aggression and maintain national stability.

He reiterated that national dialogue on Lebanon’s defense strategy is the only acceptable path, and any attempt to weaken the country or undermine its defensive capabilities in favor of US and Israeli interests will not be tolerated.

Concluding, Daamoush said the continued US aggression in Lebanon and the region underscores the resistance’s role as a national necessity.
